Stockholm Bypass
E4 Stockholm Bypass is a 21-km long new expanse of E4 which is largely built in a tunnel near the city environment. The route runs from Kungens kurva in the south to Häggvik in the north with six new interchanges above ground. Of the road’s 21 km, just more than 18 km are in a tunnel in order to spare the important environmental and cultural values.
TFIP cooperates with Assemblin, who has been assigned a comprehensive ventilation assignment in the Stockholm Bypass infrastructure project. The assignment encompasses project planning, installation and operation and maintenance of the ventilation in tunnels. TFIP’s role in the project is to design the tunnel ventilation facilities, which is a total of 57 km long with the adjacent on-ramps and a number of fan stations, as well as hundreds of jet fans.
The assignment begins in the spring of 2019 with a design planning phase. The execution phase takes place from 2022 to 2024, followed by a test phase up until the start of traffic in 2026.
